The mental balance includes emotional well-being, which consists of the ability to handle emotions. This does not mean that they should be repressed, but quite the opposite. Recognizing and accepting them, and feeling comfortable when unpleasant emotions manifest, is synonymous with emotional balance.

Love yourself, be flexible in the face of change, and resolve conflicts and tensions with others, they help us maintain emotional balance and enjoy life fully.

1. Emotions Support Your Priorities 

Neither negative nor positive emotions, that called primary emotions are a warning signal. They inform us that such a situation or event is favorable to life (through joy) or threatening to integrity (through fear, anger, and sadness), etc. They urge us to react to maintain our existence, since the dawn of time.

make those emotions and feelings to support your priorities and not put you down this is the first key to emotional balance, and not letting our goals depend on emotion ups and downs.

2. Recognizing Your Reaction With Past Emotional Experiences

Emotions we’ve felt in the past always have a meaning and a function in the present. 

Emotional memory keeps every feeling a person experienced and our brain keeps it in memory as a piece of vital information that guarantees our existence.

If in the past, an event has been associated with danger, any similar situation, even harmless, will naturally trigger the emotion.

3. Do Not Add Negative Emotion In Stressing Situations:

Since emotions have a good reason to exist, it’s not a reason to feel guilty. 

Feeling anxious about personal fears, or getting angry at your anger or grieving at your sadness increases the initial emotion. drowning you under a stream of comments and projections.

Imagine getting rid of what is experienced and painful situations. Psychic suffering increases when a person adds a negative emotion in a stressing situation.

4. It’s You Not Anyone Else:

Take your share of responsibility. It’s your emotion, even if it’s triggered by an outside event. It belongs to you and it is good news because you can do something about it, take care of your desire and/or what you are missing. The icing on the cake, according to all logic, you are not responsible for the emotions of the other.

5. Rely On The Sensations Of Your Body

Listen to your body rather than your mind, An emotion always starts with a physical destabilization.

Be aware of sensations to spot what is going through you, and do not look for solutions right away at the situation. Take the time to discover how your body reacts with such a situation.

6. Do Not Be A Drama Queen Or King

No, the emotion will not settle until the end of the world. know that if your mind does not overdramatize the situation, the unpleasant physical and psychic feelings fade after a few minutes. 

instead of drama breath, walk, stretch or just close your eyes. the internal feelings change regularly.

7. Distinguish The Facts From The Effect

Make a distinction between the event that upset you and the emotional process, and what you tell yourself about it. 

Are you judging yourself? or others? imagine being in someone else thoughts? Do you draw quick and negative conclusions from the situation? What you think is often far separated from what happened. 

Take a distance with the projections and fantasies to get closer to rational thinking and sensation.

8. Iron The Movie Instead Of Making It A Movie

To prevent mental chit-chat from making you react badly, go back to what was unexpected. What gone wrong? How were you moved? What did you see, hear, touch, perceive? How did you react? Did you want to get rid of the fear to become angry?

9. Admitting Emotions Are Not A Problem

emotion arises when one of our needs is undermined, destabilized. Fear often indicates that more security is needed. Anger, that one needs to know oneself better and to recognize oneself. And sadness, that we need to give meaning, to understand what is happening to us. Because there are still moments of grace, know that joy indicates positive energy and happiness.

10. Invite More Emotional Experiences Into Your Life

Invite emotion and situations with high emotional risks in your life.

Change your habits and do not avoid everything you fear to experience. and most importantly don’t try to control everything and anything around you.

Emotions are more likely to be controlled by experiencing and not thinking about them in a dark room, remember in childhood almost everyone had the fear to be left alone in a dark room.
